Paul Hobrough MCSP
My name is Paul Hobrough and I am a chartered and state registered Physiotherapist with a wealth of experience in the world of sports science and physiotherapy. I made my name as a member of the Great British flatwater kayak team for over sixteen years, travelling the world and competing at the highest level for my country.
My journey into professional sport began at the age of eight, when I told my parents that my dream was to become an athlete. After trying my hand at a number of sports – from football to cricket and more – I discovered kayaking. I fell in love with the sport and after a number of years of training I was selected to compete for Great Britain just before my sixteenth birthday. Fast forward several years and I was working with three other professionals to qualify a four man boat for the Olympics. Although we were ultimately unsuccessful, it was a fantastic learning experience and led me to founding Physiotherapy UK.
Bringing together my sixteen years of professional athletics, a degree and a wealth of industry qualifications, Physiotherapy UK is the culmination of years of hard work in sport. During my work in the field I have undertaken groundbreaking research in sports science at the National Sports Medical Institute, collaborating with some of the finest minds in the business. I have also worked as the head of Health and Fitness Department at the University of Surrey and the head of Physical Development in the police force. I currently write for Runners World magazine and I am the lead Physiotherapist for a host of top companies and events: Lucozade Sport, Running With Us Coaching, Sweatshop UK and Humanrace Events are all organisations that I work with.
I bring this knowledge, discipline and work ethic to Physiotherapy UK, giving my team and clients the most professional, reliable service in the UK. We offer the most comprehensive, wide-ranging skill-set available, and I ensure that all of my fellow physiotherapists and fitness experts follow my ethos. We work with professional athletes and Olympians but whatever the level of fitness, we offer a personal service that guarantees to get you back to your optimum fitness as quickly as possible. I have experienced all of the highs and lows that sport has to offer: success, injury, training at 5.30am and the thrill of the podium. Whatever your role in sports, myself and the team at Physiotherapy UK want to build you back to your best.
