Carl graduated from Northumbria University with a BSc in Physiotherapy, having previously completed a BSc in sport and exercise science at Leeds Metropolitan. Carl and his wife travelled to Australia prior to training as a physiotherapist, working for Renouf Personal Training academy where he developed a strong background in exercise science and conditioning. He started his career as a Physiotherapist working within the NHS and having completed a broad range of rotation throughout the field of Physiotherapy, and eventually specialising in musculoskeletal injuries. Carl left the NHS and moved to work for the military in order to broaden his skill set and gain valuable experience. He has had the luxury of working with the UK’s elite fighting forces.
Carl’s interest in Physio began as a footballer for NUFC, representing NUFC from the age of 13 to reserve team level and England U15’s, but unfortunately his sporting career was hampered by injury. This forged a strong interest in rehabilitation and resulted in him pursing his degree in physiotherapy. Carl has been proactive in progressing his skills through a wide range of post graduate courses. His experience and speciality is very much based on injury prevention, rehabilitation and conditioning.
In his spare time Carl is a Royal Marine reservist; having been a reservist for the past 10 years he has had the luxury of training in the harshest of conditions but with the best of men. It has given him first-hand experience of the physical and mental robustness required to endure the most difficult of circumstances. Carl Is a husband and a daddy to two boys; he likes nothing more than getting out and spending quality family time.
